Mr Null's Wicked Wares: Pragmatic Play's Magic Shop Slot

Pragmatic Play's Mr Null's Wicked Wares takes place in the shop of a blue-skinned sorcerer. Mr Null stays on screen and comments on the odd goods he sells. The humour is deliberate, and it sits alongside a dark, mysterious look.

The symbols fit the setting: skulls in jars, haunted televisions, killer dolls and carnivorous plants. Sharon McHugh, Pragmatic Play's director of public relations, called the game a distinctive addition to the studio's portfolio.

Grid and mystery symbols

The game uses a 3-4-4-4-3 grid. Its central mechanic is the mystery symbol, shown as a magic mirror, which appears only on reels 2, 3 and 4. In the base game it turns into a randomly chosen paying symbol and carries a multiplier between 2x and 10x. That multiplier applies to the win when the symbol is part of a winning combination.

When two or more mystery symbols contribute to the same win, their multipliers are multiplied together rather than added. A combination with several of them can therefore climb quickly.

The bonus in "the other realm"

Three scatters, drawn as a flaming claw, trigger the bonus. Mr Null then sends the player to what he calls the other realm. The round starts with seven free spins, and every extra scatter that lands adds one more spin. The extra spins keep you there until Mr Null has to recharge his powers with a mana potion.

During the feature, a number sits above each of the three centre reels. Each starts at 2 and rises by 1 every time a mystery symbol lands on the reel below it. That number sets the win multiplier for any mystery symbol that lands on that reel. The multipliers keep growing for as long as the feature runs.

Ante Bet and bonus buy

An Ante Bet option raises the chances of triggering the free spins. Players can also buy the free spins outright, though only in markets where the feature is permitted. Anyone playing from Canada or New Zealand should check whether it is available at their casino.
